Just like Mary Poppins, she is "Practically Perfect in Every Way"

When we arrived at the hospital we were in the Triage for awhile before a room became available. I guess a lot of babies were thinking the 19th was a great day to be born.
After I finally was in a room they put me on pitocin to start the contractions. Since I was having a v-bac they couldn't let me progress to quickly. At one point they said my contractions were to strong so they lowered the pitocin, which incidentally made the contractions almost stop completely. That sucked because we had to build them back up again. I was getting pretty frustrated towards the end. I was starving and getting irritated that there wasn't any progression. Finally, I was complete and ready to go. I labored for 12 hours to get that little girl in my arms.
First, you have to understand that she was our "surprise" baby. I really wasn't emotionally or mentally prepared for another child. Not to mention I was having a girl! I definetely was not prepared for that. If I was having another, I wanted another boy. I worked through it though. : )
When they handed her to me I was just amazed with her. She just looked at me for the longest time. Oh, and she had red hair! I thought for sure she was going to have dark brown hair so that really took me by surprise. She is absolutely PERFECT!!!
I am so in love with her, smitten by her. So glad I have a little girl!
